ROTARY CLUB OF HULL 2011-2012

WELCOME to the website of the Rotary Club of Hull.

I am Mary Munro-Hill, the current President.  We are the oldest Rotary Club in our section of District 1270.  We received our Charter on 1st May 1920, since when we have “mothered” six other Clubs, which in their turn have produced their own children and grand-children!

Rotary International (RI) is a world-wide association of 33,000 Clubs and is the largest humanitarian organisation in the world.  Rotary International in Britain and Ireland (RIBI), with almost 1900 Clubs, plays a highly significant role within RI.

It is an honour to lead this Rotary Club and, as I look through the names of my illustrious predecessors, I feel humbled, all the more, perhaps, as I am the first woman to be President of this Club.

Elsewhere on this website, you will find our Information Leaflet, showing some of our activities.  Do read it!  It may inspire you to come and join us.  We meet on Wednesday evenings at 6 for 6.30 at the Village Hotel, Henry Boot Way, Priory Park, Hull, HU4 7DY.

Our motto is “Service above Self”.  While serving, one soon discovers how everyone in Rotary enjoys fellowship, friendship and fun.
